Crafting Is Therapy

Cricut

Cut, create, and customize with precision — your ideas, perfectly executed every single time.

A Cricut machine is like having a professional design studio in your craft room. It cuts vinyl, paper, fabric, leather, and dozens of other materials with incredible precision — turning your digital designs into physical creations in minutes. Once you start, you'll wonder how you ever crafted without one.

My Cricut gave me confidence. I could finally make the things I saw in my head — perfectly lettered signs, custom t-shirts, intricate paper flowers. It bridged the gap between imagination and reality. And when I give someone a personalized gift made with my Cricut, the look on their face is everything.

Tips & Tricks

What You Need to Know

Start with Cricut Design Space

Design Space is Cricut's free software (desktop and mobile). Explore the built-in image library before designing your own — there are thousands of ready-to-cut projects.

Use the Right Mat

Blue LightGrip mat for paper and light cardstock. Green StandardGrip for vinyl and iron-on. Purple StrongGrip for thick materials like chipboard. The right mat prevents tearing.

Weed Carefully

Weeding (removing excess vinyl) is easier with a weeding tool. Work under good lighting and remove small pieces slowly. A lightbox underneath makes tiny details much easier to see.

Mirror Iron-On Vinyl

Always mirror (flip) your design before cutting iron-on vinyl. You cut from the back side, so if you forget to mirror, your text will be backwards on the finished project.

Use Transfer Tape for Vinyl

Transfer tape picks up weeded vinyl and lets you position it precisely on your surface. Burnish well, then peel the tape back slowly at a 45-degree angle.

Keep Your Blade Clean

A dull or dirty blade causes tearing and incomplete cuts. Replace blades regularly and clean them by poking into a ball of aluminum foil to remove debris.
