Crafting Is Therapy
Pour your heart into luminous, jewel-like creations that capture light and color like nothing else.
Resin art is pure alchemy. You mix two liquids together, add color, and watch something magical happen — swirling, flowing, setting into a glossy, glass-like finish that looks like it took years to master. The truth? Anyone can do it. And once you start, it's nearly impossible to stop.
Resin taught me to let go. You can guide it, but you can't fully control it — and that's the beauty. Each pour is unique, unrepeatable. There's a profound lesson in that: sometimes the most beautiful things happen when you stop trying to be perfect and just let things flow.
Tips & Tricks
Nitrile gloves, safety glasses, and a respirator mask are non-negotiable. Work in a well-ventilated space. Uncured resin is a skin and respiratory irritant.
Use a digital kitchen scale for accurate mixing ratios. Even small errors in ratio can result in a sticky, uncured finish. Precision matters here.
Use a heat gun or butane torch held 6 inches away to pop surface bubbles. A quick pass is all you need — too much heat can yellow the resin.
Resin cures best between 70–75°F (21–24°C). Cold temperatures slow curing and can cause cloudiness. A warm, dust-free environment is ideal.
Silicone molds release cured resin easily without sticking. Start with simple shapes — coasters, pendants, or small trays — before moving to complex forms.
Alcohol inks blend beautifully into resin and create stunning marbled effects. Add just a few drops — a little goes a very long way.
